It makes you happy..
“The best thing about using the Christianiabike to transport kids is how it connects you with your local community and environment. We are totally alienated inside cars. On the bike the girls wave and talk to people and notice a lot more things as we go past. Also the little one just snuggles onto her sisters shoulder to rest when she is tired, which she can’t do in the car. It’s so lovely. Today we have lots of errands to run and instead of it being a chore I am looking forward to the ride. Now I just hope for lots more of these bikes on the roads so that the councils are forced to increase the bike paths and bike parking!”

It’s so much fun
Having the kids in the front you are able to interact with them all the time and, instead of regarding time going from A to B as ‘empty time’, you now can talk and share what ever goes on around you, basically continuing what you were doing before leaving, the trip now becomes an adventure in itself.
– Or you can just sit back and enjoy how they sit and talk and play with each other.
If you have a baby, then you might be happy to know the bikes comes with 100% sleep guarantee… And you can ride the bike until the day you are due.
It’s safe
You sit up straight and have a good view of what is going on in traffic and as you also take up ‘a bit’ of space on the road everybody can see you too and will look out.
The kids are protected by a sturdy box and frame, and we have seatbelts for all ages.
It’s easy
No matter if you choose the 2 or 3 wheeler then the Christianiabikes are super easy to ride, they might not be the flashiest of bikes, but they are the best to ride.
The first thing people say when they try one is often
“It’s so much easier to ride than I imagined…”
We have been making these bikes for more than 20 years, and constantly develop and improve the components and design, and the focus have always been driveability and safety. Everything on a Christianiabike is tested over and over.

It fits all families
Whatever seating needs you have, we can fit in a Christianiabike, babyseats next to the seats for the bigger kids, double baby-seats for twins, holders for broken legs, seatbelts so a grownup can sit in it, extra seatbelts for transporting your kids friends too, Lawrence from Manly had his tube-feeding equipment with him…
The box is 60x90 cm and can carry over 100 kg. that is 4 kids or 7 slabs of beer, so it’s only up to the rider and how much they can push. The whole bike can carry 240 kg with the rider.

It great for the environment
Of course it’s also extremely good for the environment and you own and your kids health to use a bike instead of the car, many Christianiaowners sell their car after having the bike for a while, and realising how much they use it and save on petrol and parking and gym.

By teaching the kids from very young that most places can be reached by bike it will become a natural thing for them to ride their own bike as soon they are able to, and they are a lot more confident in traffic as they have learned from you while sitting in the box..

Again the box is big enough to carry their first bikes and scooters, so as soon you are on a safe bike-path the kids can
jump out and ride next to you.

The Model No/Box is especially designed for business use.
It’s a strong steel frame, and only the imagination limits what can be fitted on it. The structure of the bike means that it don’t need the box for you to be able to ride it, so any box or tray will work.
So far we have supplied bikes and trailers to businesses as diverse as cleaners, dogminders, crumpet kitchens, hair-dressers, tea brewers, personal trainers, bakers and a projectorbike for Melbourne International Filmfestival.
